Tyrell Thompson, affectionately known as “Rell” was born on June 16, 1986 to Howard and Gamie Thompson.  He was the youngest of 3 boys and his mother’s miracle child.

 

Rell was educated in the Detroit Public School System.  He attended Denby High School but decided to continue his education at Clintondale where he received his certification in general contracting.

 

Over the course of his life, Rell held several jobs, including working in different restaurants and other places. However, his certification always led him back to 

contracting jobs.  Whether it was painting, or fixing something, Rell was your guy.

 

Rell loved fishing, hanging out with his friends and family and of course cooking.  But he loved his family the most and would always be there when they needed him to be.  His greatest love was his son Amir and his fiance Jasmine. And they loved him as much just the same.

 

On October 2, 2023, Rell’s time on earth came to and end and he was greeted in his new eternal home by his grandmothers, Hattie Mae Thompson and Willie Bell Battles, his nephew, Damon Harris Jr. and three aunts and 3 uncles who all preceded him in death.

 

He leaves to cherish his memory, his parents, Howard and Gamie; two brothers, Thomas Harris(Aletha) and Damon Harris; his fiance and the love of his life, Jasmine Henderson; son, Amir Thompson; two step-daughters, Alana Harris and Nevaeh’Lei Wollen; two sisters-in-law, Katrina Penick and Mia 

Henderson; three nephews, Thomas Harris Jr, DaVon Harris, and Armoni Webster; one niece, Navy Ford; three aunts, Louise Trice(Obie), Randi Massey and Rose Morton(Clinton);  two uncles, Jerry Thompson and Charles Thompson; special cousin, ShawnDerrick Harris; special godmother, Teresa Rogers and many, many other cousins, extended family relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
